The Greater Good Science Center is an interdisciplinary research center devoted to the scientific understanding of happy and compassionate individuals, strong social bonds, and altruistic behavior. In order to promote the study and development of social well-being, the Greater Good studies the social and biological roots of positive emotions and promotes social well-being through promoting relevant scientific research and informing the general public about actions that will increase social well-being.

The Greater Good highlights ground breaking scientific research into the roots of compassion and altruism and fuses this science with inspiring stories of compassion in action, providing a bridge between social scientists and parents, educators, community leaders, and policy makers.

You can learn more about the efforts of the Greater Good Science Center by reading their magazine, their blog on raising children, or attending sponsored public talks.
